Johanna Abreu

Johanna C. Abreu is a native New Yorker of Dominican heritage with 28 years of experience advocating for injured people and their families. Fluent in English and Spanish, she provides clear guidance and a steady hand during what can be one of the most difficult times in a client’s life.

Her practice focuses on personal injury, including motor vehicle and truck accidents, construction accidents, wrongful death, and other serious injury claims. Johanna has handled cases from the first client meeting through discovery, motion practice, coordination with medical experts, negotiation, settlement, and trial preparation. Her nearly three decades of personal injury experience has given her a strong command of the medical records and evidence that are often central to demonstrating the full impact of an injury.

Before joining New York Auto Law, Johanna spent more than a decade as the managing attorney of a New York City law firm. She supervised attorneys, managed a substantial caseload, and brought complex, high-value personal injury matters to resolution. That breadth of experience helps her recognize the details that can determine a case while keeping the larger strategy in focus.

Johanna earned her J.D. from St. John’s University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English from the same institution. She is a member of the American Association for Justice and the New York State Bar Association.

Johanna combines rigorous preparation with personal attention, making sure her clients understand their options, know what to expect, and feel heard at every stage of the legal process.
